Might entice some long term bludgers to actually go get a job now that they're used to extra money.

The thing I see wrong with that comment is a) tax in this Aus is So very low- so richer people really are milking the system...even private health/education/finance are all exempt from the GST(A tax designed to make Australia more fair since tax is low...so therefore designed to tax expenses...but because ‘they’ control the economy- conservatives and our federal/state system..they cannot vote to bring it in like it was intended by now!...this means that rich all these benefits and can excessively spend, small business are not growing as fast as those industries as they get taxed more..and those industries are destroying incomes
b) The term dole bludger is just a poor, labelling term. It does nothing to describe those who receive it , the majority are relying on it for reasons other than being a dole bludger- It’s easy to judge and be ignorant, there should be a term for that

I think the majority of readers know she's referring to the lazy buggers who have been on it for years and don't even try to find work. Unfortunately they do exist. Anyway, you're entitled to your opinion too but that's what I took from the comment :)

It’s irrelevant to the question in a way that it was rude and unhelpful.. hard to tell

I didn't find it rude but I can't speak for anyone else

Do you really think the richer milk the system? My dh pays something like 45% of his income in tax and we don't get benefits. I agree small businesses do pay way to much in tax.

No disrespect but yes I do. Your husband makes over 180k, and he does not pay 45%. He pays 54K(NOT even 30%!!) then pays 45% over 180k. Then your private school fees 30k, health care payments, dental, finance, are all exempt from GST’s 10%- meaning they should in reality be more expensive but they are getting off tax, rather than the businesses that really matter. Guess who accesses those the most, spends the most on consumabes? The reality is that our children will be paying back these debts until they die. It is a biased system and it’s people just don’t even question it

No I’m not scared, I squirrelled away most of it because I knew it was going to end. Did it make a difference hell yes! For this time I could breath easier and spoil my kids a little. But I know it will come to an end so I planned ahead.
