I need advice on where we should be looking at to live keeping in mind the criteria below

Answered 4 years ago

Me and my husband are feeling disillusioned on where to live we currently live in Windsor but have previously lived in South western Sydney, inner west and northern beaches the Windsor area is the best we have liked so far but we are looking for that country feel but also would like to be with in 30-45 minutes of the beach, we are also thinking of moving to Qld if we were to move we would be looking for the same type of thing near the main broad beach area. Please suggest suitable area for both states

Tomakin is lovely on the south coast. Burill Lake is nice too. Just beware anywhere around Batemans bay gets lots of Canberrans during holidays/ long weekends 🙂 but I imagine most places near coast get busy then too.

Hey our borders still closed. Stop letting in all the germs!
OP, WA is really beautiful though if you want to consider it. We have some great beaches and the property prices are decent (except for Margaret River area, fuck that place sucks).

Nope. But we spent a fortune going on holiday there a couple of years ago. Stayed at a nice (but overpriced) place, went sightseeing, visited some chocolate places and cafes, and bought some honey. We were conservative with how we spent, but still tried to have a nice time. A month later, I saw the credit card bill 😥 Fuck that place. We saw a plot of land for sale near there, and expected the price range to be between X and Y. We factored in its size, relative location, amenities currently available to it, possibility of development, etc (real estate is a hobby of mine). This fucking thing cost XYZ × 2 😑
yeah, nah. You can get much better value for your dollar elsewhere in WA.

Is work an issue do you need to be near a large town? Because i can recommend loads of place but if need to stay near bigger towns it's limiting.

If money isn't an issue Berry is lovely. Or kangaroo valley. Norwa if you need to stay near town but I'd recommend staying outside of this town. Ulladulla. Braidwood is a lovely little country town about an hour from the ocean. Batemans bay. Moyrua is lovely too. Bermagui. Narooma. All the coastal towns are beautiful. Not as much tourists as north. Cheaper housing. There's plenty of farmland behind them if you want that country vibe. Merimbula. Go for a road trip I would suggest.

May I ask what kind of budget you're working with? Just a general idea would be helpful. How far south would you possibly consider? The eastern coast of Victoria is beautiful, countryish, and reasonably priced depending on your home specific must haves.

Budget isn’t a issue and I don’t know if I could convince my husband to go that far north

In NSW are you looking at staying around Sydney, or happy to move anywhere along the coast?
