I would rate myself a 4.9. I do masks (hair and face) at least weekly, make up when I go out. I read the books I enjoy and make time for it. I keep my room as my sanctuary, it’s my place of calm without chaos and my children know and respect that. I also take time to enjoy my hobbies at least once a month. I’m a single mum, if I’m not at 95% I can’t put 100% into my kids.

How old are your kids? I’ve been trying to make my room my sanctuary too but they just keep on walking in!

My kids are 6, 8 and 11. It wasn’t until my youngest was 5 that they all started to grasp the concept of my room is my sanctuary and not to disturb the balance. I never really taught them what to do, just lead by example with them in their rooms (knock before opening the door, stand at the door and ask if they mind if I come in, not move around their special belongings).

Maybe a 4 and aiming for a 5.
I work out 6 days a week, I do boxing, circuit, yoga
I get my nails and hair done regularly
I buy new clothes for myself and shoes
I stopped drinking alcohol and coffee early this year and look after my skin and teeth
I eat healthy lots vegetables, low carbs and small amounts of meat
The only junk food I eat is 85% dark chocolate
I have lasered off all of my body hair
I’m learning French and have just started learning piano.
I just completed a 2yr Masters

To get to a 5 next year I’m planning some Botox and I am converting an old kids play room into my own private yoga studio.
I’m also planning time for cooking fine dining meals

So before everyone gets upset, I work full time to fund all of this and my kids are teens.

Last year I was a wreck not looking after myself probably a -5 but thankfully I had a wake up call and I am on top of it. My big revelation was that my husband was basically sitting around while I did all of the work and organizing, I said Enough of this shit. Start helping or we are separating. So ladies I hope you don’t sink as low as I got before you make some positive changes to your life.

Very low, I wouldn't even give myself a one. Hairy legs, haven't had a haircut in over a year, worn out clothes and I am so overweight and just eat crap. Not takeaway or anything but I will have biscuits for breakfast. New years resolution is to look after myself a bit more.

This is similar to me. I hate shaving it’s such a chore so I only do my legs weekly. Haven’t had a haircut in 18 months but my hair is long and thick and healthy so not fussed. I’m underweight tho, have insomnia and live off coffee. I don’t wear make up unless I’m going out out as in to the pub or dancing or something. I did recently sign up to a pole class because I haven’t had a hobbie in over 5 years because of young kids and next to zero support where babysitting is concerned.

For all the ladies who think it may come across as selfish to prioritise self-care: I don’t think you’re being selfish at all and I applaud you for making yourself a priority! My own self-care rating would be very low right now (especially in the lead-up to hosting Christmas) and that has probably contributed to my immune system having a total temper tantrum recently. I don’t believe in New Year’s Resolutions but I am making some changes so that next year I can spend some time working on my own wellbeing.

I would say a 5 on a good week, my husbands best friend owns a hair and beauty salon so I get a mani, pedi, lashes, nails, waxing, facial, massage and my hair done every few weeks or once a month for free. Our business does free things for his family so it's like a swap.
My mother in law and my mum are both widowed so they're always asking to take the kids to fun and exciting things or for sleepovers.
I am very lucky and grateful, my kids are 12 years apart in age, the first time round we were young parents with basically no support, money or time so I know how it feels.

I don't do a lot for me. Even my studies are for my family.

Next year I have a lot happening. New job, new school for my son, a lot medically with my other son, Husbands job coming to an end.

I am going to make extra time for me. I am reducing my social drinking, increasing my healthy eating and exercise, seeing my chiro more often, adding in monthly massages for all of the family, cleaning up my house so my cleaning impact week is less, hiring a cleaner once a fortnight for those painful jobs, redoing my wardrobe and then updating my clothes, having strict routines.

I shower twice a day and wear clean clothes. Stay up late at night to watch a show of my choice. See a psychologist. That's it and really it's for my mental health rest of my self care is mom existent. I look and feel crap. So 1.5/5

4.5 it’s pretty high and some may think it’s selfish but I can’t give 100% to my family and work if I’m not physically and mentally healthy.
I work out 4 times a week and spend a fair bit of time in the veggie garden. I get a massage once a month and usually go out for coffee once a week.

Eat fairly healthy.
I do not drink, smoke or do drugs
Take care of my skin
Put on makeup and perfume most days
Have nice clothes
Get my hair done regularly
