Parents on Facebook etiquette

Answered 5 years ago

More of a whinge then a question but why do parents need to inform people on social media about all your down falls? Do they realise is rude and quite embarrassing? From my bad grammar to my house never being perfectly clean. I can't win. She even corrects my 14yo nieces grammar mistakes (which my niece also finds annoying) and then says did you learn English off your aunty. She of all people should know how hard it was for me to learn reading and writing, no need to tease me publicly about it. I had enough teasing at school to last a lifetime.
Sorry whinge over. Just needed to get it off my chest.

Because she has no self control and no life. The way she feels more important is broadcasting like everyone else, but being the parent she broadcasts her stupid inner parent voices that she hears rather than about how awesome her day is or isn’t.

I find it is also that generation that need to be told about that kind of etiquette. Not being rude, just fact I have a few older relatives on facebook, and I have seen other older people do it it too, who will say things that are a bit rude, or tell people off etc. They actually need to be told you don't put that stuff out in public, they would not like it if done to them.
On another note, bring up something bad about her on FB..."Remember that time when you...name embarrassing thing"

You could write that next time - ’thanks, Mum, I’ve been teased about my difficulties with reading and writing since school - some things never change, hey?’

Agree with this response. Call her out every time she comments so others can see how horrible she is.
