So bummed, bad interview

Answered 5 years ago

I went for a competitive job interview which I was lucky to be considered for, but flunked it big time, I just got so nervous and pretty much ran out of there. I need tools on how to manage my nerves and self belief because I have the experience and everything else that would be considered, I just ruin it. Anyone got some suggestions? I had a few prepared answers but probably not to the level I should have, and when you have kids and perpetual exhaustion I realised I just can’t wing it anymore today. These jobs don’t come around often so it adds to the stress. I’m sad.

Ask the interviewer for feedback, and not just 'someone else was more qualified' feedback. Ask them for the nitty gritty stuff, ask what you could do better.

Most people will only give generic answers so as not to open themselves up to a fair work or discrimation case.
