A few friends both m/f have mentioned that they don’t believe in marriage?

Answered 4 years ago

Their argument is that it’s better for people to choose each other without a pice of paper and that people change all the time. Unsure if It is a More realistic way to think?

If they're under the age of 30 then I get it, they haven't grown up yet & are probably really judgemental about how everyone else lives their lives & think they'll do it better than everyone else. Watch those people and see what their lives look like in 20 years.

I know people and they said they don't believe in marriage coz it's just a piece of paper all that crap and then the lady writes down on all her mail, kids stuff her partner last name as hers! Lol and pretends there married she even calls it her husband? 🤷🏻‍♀️ And she only tells a select few people they aren't married?
Observe lying they don't believe in marriage and is embarrassed about it to do all of that!

I don’t beleive in marriage.

I legit am baffled as to why the government has to be involved.
And they make you pay them for that privilege.

I’m more baffled by people who marriage is so important to.

Not really I don’t beleive in marriage.

I met my partner and chose to make a lifelong commitment to him , so I had his babies.

It's a personal choice. If it's not for them, it's not for them.

I would think most people choose each other before the piece of paper makes an appearance. Either way, it's up to the couple to decide what is best for them. Legally I'm pretty sure you are entitled to each other's stuff after a couple of years together anyway, so not getting married won't save them from that if that's the reason.

If you think about how much everything has changed, you can completely see their point.
Some people know they aren't cut out for monogamy or something that lasts death do us part. To other people it has lost its meaning, look how easy it is to get married, still sleep with everyone on the side and get divorced. It's lost its sacred meaning. And others have other reasons. I don't want to marry my boyfriend because his finances are so damn bad and I really don't want to be responsible for his debts

There is nothing wrong with either. It comes down to your personal choice and what is right for you and your partner. I’m married. It was what we wanted.

You can get married without the piece of paper. Marriage is about two people promising their lives, love, loyalty and respect for each other for eternity. People "get married" in bali all the time but its not a legal marriage.
Get married in Vegas or Bali, its s celebration, not a recognised Australian document.
