Favourite weight loss recipes?

Answered 3 years ago

Ladies, ideally I'd like to lose 30kgs in the next two weeks without looking like a crack addict. Sigh, this is just not feasible. I mean, I suppose drugs would be easy enough to find, but they're really not for me. So, what are your favourite recipes that you have whilst on a diet? I've recently been trying to expand my Asian recipes (I've previously shared a few on here, alas they're not healthy/good for diets), and would be particularly interested in any Asian recipes. But, I'm open to all.

Also, troll, I already know I'm fat. You don't need to point that out, its literally the reason for the post. Thankfully, my husband loves me anyway and still can't keep his hands off me. So I'm confident he's not cheating. Yes, I can be a cunt sometimes, even a kunt on occasion. If you don't have any constructive things to say, feel free to scroll on.

Try fasting, i wrote about it somewhere else on here, lost 20kg in 7 months, also basically stopped drinking alcohol. I stop eating around 7:30 and except for a coffee in the morning dont ususally eat again till about 1pm. Then i eat what ever i want, including chocolate and choc milk (my weakness!)

Your advice sounds amazing. But it also sounds like I'd break that so fast lol. But I'll give it a go for a few days and see how it suits me.
I fucking LOVE chocolate, and milk (that salted caramel flavour by oak - omfg). So this sounds.... interesting.

Sorry but you need to give up the flavoured milk. It’s loaded with calories. Maybe try a meal replacement shake with a caramel flavour.

Meal replacements are just as loaded with sugar

Mine is beef and broccoli sans any rice or noodle. Low carb did it for me.
Stir fried veggies with peanut butter sauce (like satay) was also delicious.
I have lost 42kgs fluctuating between keto and low carb

How did it go..?
How much you managed to drop..?

You could make a simple Asian broth and add lots of veg and lean chicken or salmon etc. Skip adding noodles. Maybe adapt some of your other recipes by using zucchini noodles instead of normal ones.

How did you gain 30kg in the first place? The best way to manage a healthy lifestyle is to keep an eye on your weight and pull things back a bit here and there if you gain a kilo or two. There is no quick fix to losing that much weight let alone keeping it off. Maybe you should talk to your doctor or a counselor. Good luck.

How did I?! I ate too much junk food and sat on my ass - duh 😂
But I appreciate your advice about seeing a doctor. A counsellor probably wouldn't go astray 😀

30kg should take about 20-30 weeks to lose safely. Do you have a big occasion to attend? Two weeks out your best bet is getting a flattering outfit and hair sorted and aim to lose 3kg.
As for recipes, I stole this one from Michelle Bridges: grilled chicken pieces tossed in a salad with rocket, cucumber, beetroot, chick peas, mint, crushed garlic and a little vinegar and I add a tiny bit of olive oil. Yum!
Target your weaknesses when dieting - I never had soft drink so that always annoyed me as a tip. For me, my problem was bread and pasta, particularly serving sizes. I saw a dietitian at my doctors and it was really practical - she has bowls and plates and things to demonstrate serving sizes and tailored a plan for me. Also, I was not drinking nearly enough water and was eating when thirsty.

Thanks for your advice.
Unfortunately, this is a camping thing where I'll be meeting some important people. Why we're going camping during COVID, I don't know. Much less why we're meeting people there. I have a whole rant about this I could go into but it's not the point. I have never seen any flattering camping clothes (we're going to near the snow, so layers will be adding to my size).

I like your recipe idea with the chicken. And the water. I've been trying to enjoy green tea (aka hot grass water) as another way to get my fluids up/foods down. I really appreciate your advice 🙂

Camping meeting is my idea of hell! Some nice drapey woolly cardigans out at the moment, a longline anorak...
But you’re right - not glamorous at all!
Be yourself and be confident - if they’re worth their salt they won’t be looking to criticise your weight.

Thanks! I've been doing that for some time now, but I appreciate your help anyway. Hopefully someone else can try this. It just doesn't work for me.
