Maybe a fat paycheck from China just landed in Australian political pockets..

Think of the news as a series. Each new season needs to remain fresh to keep people interested. Yes, sometimes they revisit old episodes and incorporate it into the new one, but mostly they are looking for ratings. Covid-19 has now been “played out” (not that it is any less concerning), so now the new focus is on the riots in the US and race issues over the globe. It’s only to keep rating up and bring in more advertising revenue.
