Can you measure the yolk sack without an ultrasound? My sister says yes but she has a history of faking pregnancies a few years ago.
Hello, so my sister says that her yolk sac is small but that there was a heartbeat. But she also says she did not get an ultrasound.
Her and her husband have been trying for 4 years for a baby.
I went off birth control and conceived 3 weeks later very worried that it could upset her. I announced my pregnancy at 12 weeks and 2 days later she announced hers.
I am now 14+2 weeks along. She says she is 7 weeks along.
She says that she went to her baby appointments without the husband and that he was angry at her that he missed them.
She says she is high risk and will most likely lose the baby.
Can you measure the yolk sac without an ultrasound?
I am very concerned she may be lying as she had issues with this in the past. But I need to be careful as what if she really is pregnant.
We are all taking a wait and see approach rather than confronting her.

It's an amniotic sac, filled with amniotic fluid. For the love of God, if you can't get this basic stuff then God help any child in your care.

If She is lying she is obviously screaming for attention! Don’t call her out on anything!
Quietly suggest to her husband that you are worried about her and suggest he take her to counseling and maybe on a holiday.
Congrats on your own pregnancy and hope your mum recovers or manages treatment well x
As the pregnancy advances, the yolk sac progressively increases from the 5th to end of the 10th gestational week, following which the yolk sac gradually disappears and is often sonographically undetectable after 14-20 weeks.

anywayyyyy.....
My advice was just going to be; focus on what’s important. Your own pregnancy! Congrats! Your sister is pregnant; congrats! And devastating to hear about your mum. I hope she gets all the help she needs to get healthy again. Goodluck and don’t worry about your sister or even trying to figure out if it’s lies or real. It will eventually come out in the wash

I have adopted the policy of
"Not my monkeys. Not my circus".
I know some people would say I need to get her help. I probably should. But then a part of me is just sick to death of it all. It gets tiring.
My mum got diagnosed with cancer a few weeks ago so I really need to focus on her right now.
She is probably lying about it.
