Had a friend who was a prostitute in her 20s. She'd wet wipe between clients.

A bird bath is when you fill a small basin with warm soapy water, take a cloth, and wipe yourself down starting at your head and re-wetting the cloth as necessary. Typically the last place you wash is your private areas. It's commonly used in the military during field operations.
I've seen prostitutes wash their down belows between clients, with those public drinking fountains. So, you know, they'll use just about anything.

In Newcastle, and Bondi (both in NSW) and in Geelong (VIC).

ANSWER

Ok so judgement aside, we all go to the toilet all day everyday.. do you wash your privates with soap and water at least daily?! Otherwise no matter how much you wipe, you’re still going to have like stuff all over you! What abt kids who don’t wipe themselves thoroughly. You’re chucking them in bed with god knows what is on them. Please restore my faith in humanity that basic needs like clean genitals are at least met!

Ew bidets are just as bad as not showering 😖

How do you figure that? My arsehole is cleaner than most peoples faces. How often a day do people wash their faces? I use my bidet every time I use the toilet.

REPLY

Yeah but they really aren't that common in everyday houses are they?
My kid leaves mega shit stains in their pants! If they don't shower they stinkkkkk, not to mention the crap called to their bum cos they didn't manage to wipe properly.

Live in the drought effected areas what survive on rain water then!!
Pure ignorance saying that. Kids will not die from not washing every day.

ANSWER
No, only if they're dirty. Were on a farm, in a drought and we bath/ drink/ wash in rain water. And if they do have a bath it's only very shallow water.

ANSWER

Its actually easier to keep to a dinner bath and bed routine and bath them every day no matter what. They get very put out of routine if on the very very rare occasion they skip a bath (last time that happened was almost a year ago, coz the water was out) and they enjoy bath time. Its actually a dinner time threat at our house... eat your dinner or you'll miss out on bath time 🤣 never happens tho

ANSWER

Sanitising and sterilising everything can be just as harmful as living in filth. Extremes aren't good either way. Current germ-phobic anti-bacterial trends have led to a huge increase in allergies, which can be deadly. Our bodies are designed to handle dirt and germs. If the immune system has nothing to do it starts freaking out when it encounters things like pollen.

Yes agree but too mental about germs these days

ANSWER

Nope. Usually my kids only need a bath 2-3 times a week. They'll happily give themselves a bird bath with a dish of warm soapy water and a cloth if they get a little grubby. But usually, their clothes bare the brunt of their playing.

So I guess you don't shower daily either, waste of water

REPLY

No, I don't shower daily. There are days when I don't need to. Again though, if something needs a quick clean, I'm happy to bird bath. I don't live in a hot climate, and I don't get sweaty and gross every day.
Whether it's a waste of water or not, I'm not discussing. I don't need to use it every day, neither do my kids. If you do, then you do you.

I work full time, I go out doors, after a Long day my box and arse are sweaty and smell less than fresh! my kids go to school full time, they are always outdoors. It's "mild" here. The teenagers stink like BO after a day of school. The little kids are sticky, dusty, dirty, covered in food, texta, paint, whatever. The little little ones wear nappies, crawl on floors, have urine or poo on their skin at some point during the day, have food/milk smooshed on themselves.

Maybe you and your children never ever leave your house and barely move from your couch? Otherwise active people need good hygiene.

If you don't like the response move on!!!! If she wants to shower every second or third day who cares, do you have to live with her?? I shower daily and my children do as well, that's the way we like it but I understand and am mature enough to get that other people might live differently and that's ok.

Curious to know how big your bathtub is and what you do with the left over bath water? Or maybe you bathe them in grey water? Your water bill must be high.
Do your kids have any skin issues being soaped up every day? My kids have eczema and bathing them every day (even if we don't use soap) makes it worse.

They are elderly! We're talking about the hygiene of your children

So, are your children out playing in mud and living in filth day in day out? Or do they have days where they don't get as dirty? Maybe take a look at your laziness in housekeeping if they can't even stay indoors on a rainy day and not get filthy. Seriously, what happens in winter, do your kids run around in shorts and a singlet? So they still get filthy even when covered in clothing?

REPLY

My kids run around in shorts and a tshirts year round. Winter for us is 25 degrees. So yes my kids to get dirty everyday.

My kids aren't toddlers or babies, but play outside all the time, play in mud, sand, dirt, climb trees, play in lakes, in ocean, go bush walking, ride bikes, go fishing, touch dead things.
Yeah they are getting bathed or showered daily!

My housekeeping is fine.
My water Bill is approx 160-220 quarterly.
Surely every kid has the right to go to bed with clean hands, face, arse crack, foreskin and vagina. Seriously.
How lazy are you??
I'm actually disgusted you are criticising me for washing my children everyday to try to justify your laziness.

And if your kids have skin issues then don't use commercial soap! But for fk sake at least give them a water wash every day!
And the elderly also smell like they wash only 3 times a week. Usually it's because they are too immobile, it's too stressful for them or there's not enough staff. Please, your argument had no credibility.

REPLY

Hahahahaha
Your child doesn’t not have skin issues clearly hahaha

Ok fuck , just use non commercial soap, how have I never thought of that?!? All that money wasted at specialised doctors and that wasted recommendations trained professionals gave us to limit baths and showers as best we can.
Thousand of dollars down the drain literally!!! All we had to do was bath every day using no commercial soap.
Fuck

Okay, so you go ahead and be disgusted. It's concerning how riled up you get about this. Just so you're aware there are at least 2 responders to you.
My children are happy and healthy little tykes. When you come and raise them, in the same circumstances and situations that I have been for the last 9 years, then I'll put more stock into your opinion on how we live our lives. But until then, you do you baby boo.

Im just disgusted by lazy mothers.
Justify your laziness however you want.
As long as you're hippy raising your kids third world style hey who cares.
And fyi at least two replies doesn't mean at least two responders. Some nutcases reply multiple times to justify their position. And laziness.
So fk off baby boo.

Every day. Very rarely do my kids ever skip a bath and if they do the have one first thing the next morning. They’re young, we live somewhere very hot, they play outside. They sweat, they play in dirt, they are always getting messy with painting/colouring or eating.

I just don’t understand how people can let their kids not bath for 2-3 days.
My kids get filthy every day, they enjoy bathtime, it’s a part of their routine, it’s something that only their dad does with them and has since birth, I enjoy the peace time of them not bugging me 😅
All round I only see benefits of my kids bathing everyday. If we miss a bath it throws their routine out, they have trouble falling asleep.

ANSWER

Where we live it is warm all year round, so the kids are always outside playing and swimming. Sweaty, active kids need daily bathing!

ANSWER

I try to keep a dinner, bath, bed routine with my toddler but I work two jobs and have older kids too and sometimes we have late night sports, dance events and things so he will fall asleep on the drive home and skip a bath. It's just life. My two daughters shower twice a day, before school and before bed so I'm hopeful I'm not raising a grub 😅

ANSWER

In summer they have pool baths like 4/5 nights out of 7 lol.
In winter depends we might skip the odd shower if we haven’t done much that day.
My kids spend ALOT of time in water and so do I, so sometimes a bath or shower is just exhausting to get wet again.
By time bathtime comes it’s like your finally dry again.
