My question is how hard is it to be tested for CoVid where you live?

Answered 4 years ago

I live in Houston,TX. The Covid #’s here have been very high. I have not had it though I was tested 2 or 3 mnths ago for work ($250 on the company’s tab) because 3 people came down with it at the store I was at. To get a free test here it’s rather hard. One way is to find someplace that’s doing testing, then you have to qualify to be tested, then you make an appt. (might still have to wait in line). If you don’t qualify this way you can go to a drive up facility that takes everyone but that may take 6 hrs or more in line. It’s very tedious. I don’t know about in other states (or countries) but in Texas it’s super hard to get tested. So frustrating.

Easy! We have a drive thru set up in Australia. I got my son tested at 4pm and results were sent via text at midnight. Most I know people have waited for results is 2 days, the test itself isn’t a long wait at all from my experience.

Lol you must not be from Melbourne. Took 6 days for us a few months back and recently heard some people waiting up to 10 days

I had one the other day. Walked straight in, the test took 60 seconds at a pathology clinic
and results (neg) were back in 22 hours.

We're in ACT with no known active cases. Easy to get a test, and free. Multiple places to attend, plus a couple of drive through. They encourage anyone with symptoms to get tested. I took my son on Monday, waited an hour which seemed reasonable, got result 1.30am on Wednesday.

There's two drive thru test clinics within a five & ten minute drive of my house. It's quick unless there's an outbreak & mass testing of anyone who's been anywhere near the infected people occurs. Then it's hours of waiting.

Testing is free for everyone.

We have only 6 (known) active cases in Queensland. The suppression strategy is being used so anyone who has contact with a case is isolated & tested. Anyone who's unwell is expected to get tested. It's very swift and precise.
