I am not able to get internet connection to my house as it's a new build and waiting for telstra to pull their finger out.

USB modems, often referred to as dongles, plug into a USB port on your computer or tablet and connect you to the Internet when you are on-the-go.

USB modems are extremely easy-to-use. Simply plug your dongle into a USB port, install the software and start making the most of the Internet.
Small, lightweight and highly portable, USB modems can be slipped inside your bag or your pocket and taken with you wherever you go.
Dongles are available with 3G and 4G connection speeds. 4G is almost always preferable, but it is not universally available across the country and is more expensive than 3G.

A portable WiFi router is just like your internet box at home, but instead of being attached to a phone cable, they have a SIM card inside instead. If you get an 'unlocked' portable WiFi device, this means you can use any SIM card, from anywhere in the world, inside it.
