I have a Centrelink fraud debt of under $5000, would I be facing jail time even if I said that I’m happy to pay it back
Answered 2 years ago
Because I have offered to pay it back without any further action to be taken and I’m worried I’m going to go to jail. This is a first time offence too

They won’t send you to jail.
A few years ago we unintentionally underestimated our income for the year and we’re overpaid. We owed about $7300 to them and we just paid it off. There was never any talk of jail or charges or anything. Just a simple payment plan.
