13-Year-Old Boy Dies After Playing the ‘Good Boys’ Game’

A 13-year-old boy has died after playing a dangerous choking game known as the ‘good boys’ game’.

The schoolboy, from Brisbane, was participating in a ‘good boys game’ in which participants choke themselves until they are unconscious.

Now, The Daily Telegraph reported that the boy’s parents have urged other parents to educate their own children about this game to prevent another death. In an email, which broke the news to the school community, they made some details public in order to raise awareness about the game.

The school then advised caregivers to monitor children’s activities online since the game had reportedly circulated on the internet.

Federation of Parents and Friends Association of Catholic Schools in Queensland executive director Carmel Nash said she wasn’t aware that the game was popular, but she hoped that people would know about the game’s consequences after the incident.

The game is known as ‘the good boys’ game’ because it does not involve drugs or alcohol.

The school and the boy’s name were not revealed at the request of his parents.

Counselling is to be offered to students when they return to school.
