A mum and her baby were badly burned after another case of Thermomix explosions.

Mum Heidi Brennan, a paramedic from Aspendale Gardens in Melbourne, was cooking with her baby daughter, Caitlin on her hip when her Vorwerk Thermomix TM31 started making an odd sound, so she turned off the machine. She told News Corp that the lid of the device hit the roof and it sprayed boiling water all over her and her baby.

She said that the incident which happened in April 2014, scarred her daughter, who was 16 months old at the time, receiving a deep burn on her arm, while Ms Brennan suffered first-degree burns to her shoulder and one eye.

“If it affected my vision, that would have been my job,” she said.

She then phoned Thermomix to complain about what happened.

Now Ms Brennan joins the other 10 people who have contacted law firm Slater and Gordon to contemplate filing a class action over the dangers of the $2000 appliance.

Choice reported that about 87 Thermomix-related injuries have already been reported.

Thermomix in Australia Pty Ltd is yet to comment on the possible legal action against the company.
