Seven-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Filmed While Using Primary School Toilets

An investigation is currently underway over a ‘disturbing incident’ where a seven-year-old girl has been filmed during after-school-care hours in the toilets in a Northern Territory Primary School.

NT News reported that the girl was urged to use a certain toilet cubicle by a number of older boys who told her the other toilets couldn’t be used. She found a video camera hidden behind the toilet roll and reported it to educators on duty.

A spokeswoman for the Northern Territory Department of Education told the NT News that the principal and vice principal of the school were in regular contact with the girl’s family.

“The student involved in the incident is being monitored by teachers and staff to ensure their wellbeing is maintained.

“The school will continue to provide support to the student and their family as required.

“Students at the school have been reminded of the school’s technology policy and importance of respecting others,” she said.

Based on records, the number of young sex offenders has increased from 1200 in 2011, to 2000 in 2015 across Australia.

Last year, Kidspot reported that two 12-year-old boys were accused of raping a nine-year-old girl at a Sydney school.

Meanwhile, in October last year, the Courier-Mail reported a distressing case where a nine-year-old boy assaulted a four-year-old girl in Queensland.
