Pretty much all finger foods, these Sweet ‘n’ Sour Chicken Wings included, are guaranteed to go down a treat in the SAHM homes.

With kids running loose left, right, and centre, it’s good to have something for in-between snacks or even pre-meal appetisers that are sure to appeal to kid tastes.

We can tell you that these delightfully sweet, yet tangy, chicken wings tick all the boxes. Not only are they nice and affordable (wings are cheap!), they’re easy to make and perfect for dinner parties and BBQs and more.

Method

  1. Prepare the chicken wings by snipping off the wing tips and cutting through the joint to break each wing into two pieces. Put the wings into a wide, shallow dish.

  2. In a bowl mix together all of the other ingredients with a whisk until well combined. Using a brush or spoon, cover the chicken wings with this mixture, turning to coat evenly on both sides, or simply pour on top and stir to ensure even coating. Cover and refrigerate to marinate for at least one hour, but overnight is best.

  3. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and prepare a baking sheet or tray with baking paper. Arrange the chicken wings on the paper (you may need two trays depending on how many wings you have) and pop into the oven. You may brush the wings again with the mixture when they go in.

  4. Bake until the chicken is cooked through and sticky but browned on the outside, or about 30 minutes. Sprinkle with sesame to serve.
