Also in our late 30s, hubby is uncircumcised. I though it was a big thing of the past but reading these comments apparently not. We chose to leave our son uncut

ANSWER

Uncut.

I can't get turned on by a baby genital mutilation.

Sorry, not sorry.

What a simplistic and probably silly answer. What if parents decided not to circumcise then the person decided to have it done as an adult?

My father and four brothers were all intact (not circumcised), I was kept intact too.
My foreskin was used in all kinds of ways during sexual activity, and its inner surface was the most sensitive part of my penis (more sensitive that even the glans). Orgasms were so intense that my body would convulse with waves of ecstatic pleasure.
When I was 19 I had an elective circumcision just to fit in as my friends were circumcised.
Conventional wisdom at the time (which is still around today unfortunately) said that there was no difference between being intact and being circumcised. Common sense should have told me otherwise, but I was young. Following circumcision, the constantly exposed glans dried out and its surface became ordinary skin rather than moist mucous membrane. The surface became calloused rather than delicate, and although the nerves were still there below the surface, the calloused, dry and thicker skin of the glans definitely decreased sensation as well as lack of foreskin full of sensory nerve endings.
Orgasms were still possible of course, but they were not nearly as intense as when I was intact.
Later, I discovered that non-surgical foreskin restoration was possible. I wrote off for the directions and fashioned home-made devices to restore my foreskin and protect my glans again. My glans has resensitised and became a moist mucous membrane once again. The loose skin (which looks very natural and functions surprisingly naturally too) makes masturbation and intercourse easy and more enjoyable for both myself and my wife.
I have two intact young adult sons who are both grateful they were kept that way.
Some men will write in and say it makes no difference or much better after having an adult snip…however many like myself are disappointed and do foreskin restoration. Just be grateful that it’s a god given gift to be born with a foreskin that has a purpose and function…boys, men and women need to be taught about the benefits of a foreskin.

I am sorry you don't enjoy being circumcised.
As a counterpoint, I was circumcised in my mid-20s and love it.
Some of my earliest memories are of seeing circumcised friends and thinking how much better it looked.
I found my foreskin was an annoyance. Pubic hair used to get stuck in it and when I became sexually active I didn't like the feeling of it rolling back and forth inside my girlfriend. One of us holding the foreskin back during sex was so much more enjoyable. (She didn't care either way.)
After I was circumcised, the feeling was different in a way that's difficult to describe. I could feel my girlfriend's entire vagina enveloping my penis, right down to the base.
I have never regretted getting circumcised, and my girlfriends and partners have only had positive comments.
I'm in two minds about whether I would have preferred to have been done as a baby. It would have saved me having it done later but also I am glad I had the choice.
I wouldn't circumcise any boys I had. I view it as needless cosmetic surgery. But I'd support my son(s) if they decided to have it done..

Sorry that you didn’t like been intact. Not many men have your problem with pubic hair getting stuck etc. Ever heard of shaving? Most men and even some women like the feel of the foreskin gliding back and forth with those extra sensory nerves.
I guess if your happy good luck! The majority of men love being natural and that’s why it’s important all boys are given the opportunity of remaining natural…

Hubby (47) is cut and was done in early teens for medical reasons. Been with a few men before him and he is the first I have had sex with to be circumcised. Never had our sons circumcised though, not really the done thing these days. I like his clean look but wouldn't have a preference. The head of his penis is always out there rather than hidden away.

American hubby here, cut. Wifey finds it more attractive and easier to take in her mouth. I have nothing to compare it to since I was a baby when it was done, but it seems like the stimulation would be more intense because everything is right out in the open.

my ex husband was cut but current partner not. There have been a number of times that he has said the part of the skin under the head holding the foreskin on has become sore after sex. I don't understand why as we son't have marathon sex and its not due to a lack of lubrication. When this happens, we won't have sex until its better (4-7 days). just because of this issue which I never had with my ex, I would prefer uncut. Imm in my 40's and want more sex!!

It should come back when erect, or able to be pulled back easily. Staying over the head is not usual and if it never comes back or is tight you should see a doctor. There are treatments available that don't include circumcision.

I posted the previous comment. My hubby had it done in his 20s, before we met.
He says he always hated his foreskin because of the look of it, the feel of it during sex and that it just generally got in the way (apparently pubes used to get caught in it!).
He says that for him there are no downsides. Sex better, looks great, etc.
I have a strong preference for a circumcised guy so I am very thankful he had it done.
We agree though that any boys of ours wouldn't be done and we'd let them decide for themselves, like hubby was able to.

If I could choose, I'd say I prefer cut, but I won't judge a guy on it. BF has lot of foreskin (it retracts fine but can still easily cover the head when erect) and has hinted that maybe having less skin or having it cut would have been nice.

REPLY

Reading the comments here, it really does seem that most women prefer it (although that's not very scientific!).
I know most of my friends and I do, too, but some couldn't care either way. When the girls talk, none of my friends admit to preferring foreskin, despite what they need to tell their uncut partners!
As for it making a comeback, the other thing that surprises me on here is the numbers who have circumcised their sons and that it seems quite prevalent in their circles of friends.
I understood that it was about 10-20% (depending on the state you're in or rural v city) but it seems quite higher than that.
