My 16 year old daughter

Answered 9 months ago

So my daughter is 16 she hangs out with our neighbour for a few years now. He's 52 but absolute gentleman well respected Christian in our area. Since her father died they've become much closer which I haven't had a problem with to be honest. However recently while she's there and swimming in his pool (she always has) I noticed he was rubbing suncream On her body. She says she's comfortable with it. Am I making a mountain out of a mole hill.... what you think 💬

I think you need to monitor this situation really closely. Maybe do some surprise visits when she’s over there . You need to find out what’s really going on . Is it just the sunscreen ???

Being an elder at a church doesn’t make him trustworthy, do you live in a bubble?

Your 16 year old daughter and this 52 year old man should not be having any kind of "friendship" nor hanging out with one another.

He shouldn't be physically touching her anywhere...unless it is an emergency.

Why would you feel a grown man of 52 hanging/ grooming a 16 year old child and rubbing cream on her body is okay??

Have a talk with him and tell him your daughter will not be coming over or anything anymore.

That he is not allowed to have her over or have any communication with her unless it is to greet her in front of an adult...or you will call the cops.

Take her out of whatever activities she's in where he's there.

Warn the other parents about him too.

This is inappropriate..and they both need friends their own age.

This is predatory behavior.

Whatever they're doing it needs to end permanently asap.

What kind of parent are you to allow this? Become a better parent.

Something is going on.

As a parent and adult, you should know that this is wrong and inappropriate...

And your child may be keeping a lot of secrets about what's happening from you.

Protect your child.

Also check the national offender list, run a background check on him.
