Sex Challenge Day 18: Meditate First

Meditation relaxes you, helps you de-stress, assists couples to resolve conflict, and allows you to focus on things that are important.  It is also a wonderful way for you to get closer to your partner and help you both be more intimate.

Sexual meditation or some prefer to call it mindful meditation uses emotions to connect with your lover. Knowing and being at one with each other helps you connect better and of course have mind-blowing sex!

How to Meditate

Make sure you are in a room where it is quiet and you will not be disturbed.

Note: Set a timer for how long you want to meditate for.

  1. Sit comfortably in a chair or on the floor
  2. Take two to three deep breaths and close your eyes
  3. Breathe in and out, and notice the rhythm of your breath.
  4. Pay attention to your body and if there is any tension anywhere. When you breathe out breathe away any pain or tension that you are holding onto.
  5. Just focus on your breath and breathing in and out.
  6. If your mind wanders and you are thinking of something else just let it go and refocus on your breathing.
  7. Continue until the timer sounds.

How to Meditate with Your Partner

  1. Pick a spot that is quiet and that is free from distractions
  2. Add cushions to sit on if you wish or other items that make you feel more comfortable.
  3. Make sure to set a timer – you can have it be a 3-minute meditation or a longer one… it is up to you.
  4. Close your eyes and relax and just be.
For a different spin, open your eyes and look at your partner while relaxing and focusing on your breath.  When you are having sex if you normally keep your eyes closed, change it up and open them for a more intense and intimate experience.
  5. You can both focus on your breath and sit alongside each other, or face each other for 3 minutes. Don’t talk and if you feel uncomfortable you can giggle.
  6. Sit back to back and feel what your body and your partner’s feel like. Where is the tension and where does your body feel relaxed?
Think about how this makes you feel and take time to work from head to toe and get to know the shapes, how it makes you feel and be as one.
  7. Continue until the timer sounds.
