To Stick Or Not To Stick?

To Stick Or Not To Stick?

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past 5 years, you would have seen, or fallen victim to, the big craze that is not only going on in Australia but also around the world. “My Stick Family” stickers are taking over our roads, and now police are warning us to be careful with the stickers as they can give out information to the wrong kinds of people.

The stickers can tell a lot about your family without anyone talking to you; if your married or are single, how many kids you have or if you have a dog that might chew their leg off. Convicted thieves have admitted to using the images to ‘scope out’ their next targets or to evaluate a potential one, just by either following the car home, or by looking at the rear window of the car parked in the driveway.

Created by a Gold Coast family, these stickers (and their imitations) have obviously struck a chord with families around the world. Like so many mothers, I have these stickers on my car (Zombie stick family) and am now concerned about the safety of my family. How sad that something so fun and innocent as having cute little decals representing your family members on the window of your car, could be turned into a source of strategic information for criminals.

What are your thoughts? Do you have these stickers on your car?
