Top 10 Pregnancy Apps for Mums-to-be

You’re pregnant! So, of course you want to know what fruit to compare the size of your baby to! Well, there is an app for that!

In fact, there is an app for just about everything you need (or want) to know about growing a little baby, even one for the dads-to-be. Here is our list of the best pregnancy apps of 2015.

1. What To Expect

This is the official app from the popular pregnancy book, “What to Expect When You’re Expecting,” and it’s a great way to keep track of your baby’s growth and development. The app has a due date calculated, pregnancy countdown, and week-by-week photos of what your baby is expected to look like. The app is kind of fun too, comparing the size of your baby with fruit and also adding in funny little tidbits, such as today your baby grew a chin. CUTE!

2. Wee Mail

This app is similar to the one above although it allows you to share the tracking information of your baby’s development via Facebook, Twitter and email to keep your partner up to date, as well as anyone else that is interested. It is easy to use, bright and is a good alternative if you’re looking for some humour about your growing baby.

3. Ovia Fertility

This is the app for those who are trying to have a baby but need to take their baby making to the next level of sophistication — in other words, when the eggs drop it’s time to romp. Created by Harvard experts, Ovia takes a highly scientific approach “” there are lots of charts and graphs “” and has users log in every detail of their day such as how many glasses of water you’ve had, fruits and vegetable intake, and even blood pressure levels.

4. Baby Names

So many arguments can be had over the name of a baby, it’s one of the most frustrating and confusing (slash fun) parts of becoming a parent. This app is perfect for those people who have not had a name chosen since primary school (like me!), with over 60,000 boy and girl names for you to ponder over. Create idea lists; search for meaning and check the popularity of the names you pick.

5. SIDS and Kids Safe Sleeping

It’s only natural to worry about your newborn baby, especially when it comes to sleeping. We have had many mothers say they have lain awake staring at their baby, making sure they are safe and sound. Well, to help you get it right and lessen the stress, the SIDS and Kids Safe Sleeping App provides new and expectant mothers with vital information on how to sleep baby safely and reduce the risk of sudden unexpected death in infants and fatal sleeping accidents. It also includes valuable information on tummy time and safe wrapping.
