Mum’s Trick to Escape If Kidnapped and Tied Up Goes Viral

A mother has shared to the world a clever trick to escape she taught her daughter if kidnapped and tied up.

Michelle O’Neal, from Orlando, Florida in the US, has taught her daughter an incredible trick where she uses her shoelaces to snap the ties in under 60 seconds.

In a video Ms O’Neal posted on Facebook, the girl can be seen handcuffed with a zip tie. Along with the video was a caption that reads:  “Could your kids escape if they were handcuffed with a zip tie? Teach them how to free themselves in less than a minute!”

The girl in the footage bends over and unties her shoelace before threading one through the ties as she explains how to untie a zip tie “in case you’re kidnapped.”

Once the lace is securely in place, she pulls the bottom of it through the tie with her teeth.

She further explains: “you take your other shoe lace” then she ties her left lace to the one already through the cable ties.

She then leans back in her chair and starts to move her feet in a sawing motion, then suddenly, the cable tie snaps in just seconds.

The video has already been viewed more than 60 million times and has been shared over 32,000 times.

Plastic cable ties are one of the hardest restraints to get out of, but one of the easiest and cheapest for criminals to get hold of.
