Young Surfer Sabre Norris Leaves Ellen DeGeneres in Hysterics

Young Australian surfer, Sabre Norris, left quite an impression on Ellen DeGeneres when she was a recent guest on the Ellen Show.

The 11-year-old Newcastle native – who claimed the 25th spot in last month’s Sydney International Women’s Pro surfing event – may have a shot at being a comedian after she had Ellen giggling at her answer when she was asked about her wish to spend all the money she’s earned from surfing.

“I wanted to spend all of my money on doughnuts after winning.

“I gave $100 to my sister, $100 to my brother and $100 to my other sister, so I’ve only got $200 left.

“But I want to get an American pair of socks to remind me of my time here,” she said.

She also told Ellen about what her mum said about appearing on the Ellen show. “My mum said I had zero chance of getting on the Ellen show and I’m on the Ellen show,” she said.

Sabre then told Ellen she wants to go to Las Vegas because she’s heard about the buffets.

“I would die to go to Las Vegas. There must be a buffet in every hotel. You can get Krispy Kreme doughnuts for breakfast and lava cake for breakfast and crab legs for breakfast.

“When I win a world title and I’m rich, I’m gonna go there to celebrate and I’m gonna eat whatever I want for breakfast, lunch and dinner,'” she said.

So, when Ellen told Sabre she was going to Las Vegas, she got so excited that she jumped up and began shrieking, especially when Ellen gave her $500 and tickets to see her favourite singer, Justin Bieber. “Oh my gosh. I’ve got a cardboard cut out of Justin Bieber, which I kiss,” she said.

Last month, Sabre left Karl Stefanovic and the Today Show team in stitches after a side-splitting interview in which she branded her dad ‘fat’ and said she would spend her winnings on doughnuts.

Sabre began the interview by telling the co-hosts how excited she was to be the youngest surfer ever awarded a wildcard into a major Australian event. “I can’t believe that Sally gave me the wildcard, it’s like I can’t believe out of all the girls in the world she’s chosen me,” she said.

With her witty antics, Sabre has charmed millions of viewers around the world.
