Home Remedies For Snoring

If you’ve got a snorer in your household, whether it’s your partner or even you (*Gasp* surely they lie you don’t snore right?! ) it can create tension in the bedroom and the household in general.

Whilst you lay there wide awake with your left eye twitching because you haven’t had a full nights sleep since forever due to the incessant roar coming from the other side of the bed, just remember there are some steps that can be taken to try and reduce the snoring, and no, the smothering with a pillow idea is NOT an option.

Firstly, let’s get a better idea of why some snorers sing the song of their people which can rattle windows and keeps those in the vicinity of a whole urban block awake.

Snoring is simply the noise made from the soft tissues in the upper airway (including the nose and throat) vibrating.

Generally this happens when the muscles of the tongue and soft palette relax during sleep and can collapse together. When someone is snoring it sugests that the airways of the nose or mouth are partially obstructed which leads to difficulty moving the air through. As a result the air movement is turbulent and causes the vibration and the not so soothing sound of snoring.
