If you’re tired of your usual breakfast meal but in a hurry to get those tummies filled, this Basic Chaffle recipe will save your morning!

Chaffles, as in cheesy waffles are low-carbohydrate waffles made with just two ingredients: cheese and eggs. They are healthy and perfect for breakfast, as they are high in protein and low in carbs.

Keto-friendly and gluten-free!

Plus, they are easy to make! Aside from some eggs and cheese, all you’ll need is a waffle iron. You can top these with so many of your favourite waffle toppings – fruit, maple syrup, whatever!

As you make these, the room will be filled with that wonderful cheese smell that will make everyone’s mouth water. The best part of these chaffles are the golden crispy edges so make sure to “accidentally” mess up the edges (on purpose!)

Method

  1. Preheat your waffle iron.

  2. In a bowl, whisk together 2 eggs and half a cup of shredded cheese. You can actually add more - up to a half cup of cheese if you want it to taste more.. cheesy! PS. The more finely shredded your cheese are, the better these chaffles are going to turn out.

  3. Spray your waffle iron with cooking spray and pour in half of the batter. Cook about 3 minutes, or until golden brown.

  4. Repeat with the remaining batter. Serve with your favourite toppings and enjoy!
